Adex Personnel is seeking a strong Senior Data Analyst to join its client, a leader in technological transformation. The candidate will work on a project for their client, a leading Canadian financial institution, within the Analytics team of the Marketing and Communications (MarCom) department, specializing in data integration. This is a hybrid position requiring two days a week in the office in Montreal.

The initial contract duration is 9 months, with a possibility of renewal or transition to a permanent position.

 

The candidate will collaborate with other analysts to oversee the maintenance and enrichment of datasets that feed MarCom reports and analysis. They will work with various data sources, including Google Analytics, CRM, marketing automation tools, and more.

 

 

Responsibilities / Accountabilities

 

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL codes.
  • Build data extraction, transformation and loading solutions (ETL) in Databricks and SSMS to provide a data foundation for Marketing & Communications (Marcom) reports.
  • Develop and review code used by all the data analysts in the department.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources into a single source or system and ensure data pipelines comply with regulations and BDC standards.
  • Develop and operate processes to maintain data pipelines to process and transform raw data into usable formats.
  • Identify and fix technical issues with redundancy.
  • Support team of data analysts with data knowledge or with debugging
  • Collaborate with data specialists, architects, data modelers, data scientists, and project/product team to design and document data integration flows.
  • Troubleshoot SQL jobs as required. Document the work and tests done, execute deployments.
  • Design and implement data models to support business requirements.
  • Troubleshoot data issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with analysts and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and help them access the data they need.
  • Ensure data quality and accuracy through monitoring and validation.
  • Create or update complex and large Power BI datasets to support data analysts.
  • Improve Power BI datasets performance.
  • Write codes in DAX and in Power Query.

 

Requirements

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in data management and data analysis.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with SQL for RDBMS such as Azure SQL, MS SQL Server.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with Databricks.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with Power BI (including DAX, Power Query).
  • Experience with data warehouses designed in star and snowflake schema.
  • Experience in managing Marketing data an asset (such as Google analytics, Marketing automation systems (SAP, Eloqua…)
  • Experience with release management, and code migrations across different environments.
  • Experience with multidimensional data modeling.
  • Experience working in a large organization is an asset.
  • Experience using GIT versioning is an asset.

Educational Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Information Management or any other related field, an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Good understanding of SQL optimization techniques and of multidimensional database schemas.
  • SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
  • Advance knowledge of Power BI.
  • Experienced in Databricks.
  • Google Analytics knowledge is an asset.
  • Ability to review own work and minimize errors. Strong attention to detail.
  •  Curiosity and ability to acquire technical skills very quickly. Fast learner.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to estimate and deliver on expectations and communicate hurdles.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team in an autonomous way.
  • Fluency in English and french.
