Adex Personnel is seeking a Senior Accounting Technician to join one of our partners, a multidisciplinary firm located in Laval, offering integrated professional services including accounting, certification, taxation, business law, advisory services, and human capital management.

Under the supervision of the Vice President, Certification and Accounting, the Senior Accounting Technician is responsible for maintaining the accounting records of the firm's clients. They provide support to clients in various aspects of their accounting, including accounting software, payroll interfaces, and other accounting operations. They also play a consultative and planning role in transitioning to cloud-based software and supervise assignments carried out by technicians.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and organize internal accounting for a clientele primarily composed of healthcare professionals.
  • Act as a resource person to address questions regarding payroll processing for the firm's clientele.
  • Manage various special assignments in internal accounting, such as payroll service implementation or changing accounting systems.
  • Collaborate with team members of the firm during acquisition assignments, especially for the implementation of internal accounting protocols and procedures.
  • Develop internal and external protocols for bookkeeping.
  • Review bookkeeping work performed by accounting technicians.
  • Analyze training needs, prepare and deliver training internally or to external clientele.
  • Monitor and prepare periodic performance analyses of clients.
  • Ensure compliance with deadlines imposed on clients.
  • Administer the T4 period, including the role of file reviewer.
  • Participate in special projects, such as accounting analyses, when required.
  • Collaborate on transactional processes with clients or internal stakeholders, especially regarding payroll or other client accounting aspects.
  • Recommend improvements to increase organizational efficiency within the department and team.
  • Perform any other related and necessary tasks within the assigned functions.

Requirements:

  • College diploma or bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in bookkeeping and full accounting cycle management.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in customer support and training.
  • Experience in an accounting firm or on your own;
  • Experience in bookkeeping review.
  • Experience in team supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks Online, Dext, and Sage 50 software.
  • Knowledge of the full accounting cycle.
  • Knowledge of various types of payroll processing.
  • Knowledge of payroll interfaces (Dayforce/Ceridian, ADP, Nethris, etc.).
  • Perfect command of the French language, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong interest in customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team, delegate, and train people.
  • Ability to handle multiple files simultaneously, set priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • High level of autonomy and adaptability.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changes.
  • Proactive, efficient, and creative in finding efficient solutions.

Special Requirements:

  • Availability to work additional hours beyond the normal workweek, especially from January to April.
  • Own transportation for travel to clients.

Assets:

  • Knowledge of Acomba and Caseware software.
  • Knowledge of Taxprep tax software.
  • Proficiency in the English language, both orally and in writing.
