Adex Personnel is looking for  a TOOLMAKER LEVEL 2  to join one of its partners, a giant in Aerospace engineering and transportation. for a career opportunity at the Laval headquarters.

This position is primarily responsible for planning, fabricating, and manufacturing dies, patterns, and gauges of extreme complexity.

Responsibilities:

  •  Analyzes machining requirements and determines analytical procedure.
  • Performs all set-ups of equipment and molds utilizing knowledge of machine shop practices and procedures.
  • Performs complex machining using horizontal lathes, vertical mills, and surface grinders.
  • Inspects dies for conformance to established specifications.
  • Sets up and sharpens drills, tool bits, and contour cutters.
  • Uses a variety of precision inspection equipment.
  • Plans the repair or modification of complex molds and repairs or modifies as required.
  • Repairs damaged dies, gauges, and fixtures per requests from production.
  • Follows tool work order requests per engineering instructions.
  • Manufactures fixtures and tools from rough sketches.
  • Maintains records, drawings or other paperwork as required.
  • Maintains work area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
  • Performs precise machining operations on certain castings that cannot be machined by other departments.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of both experience and training.
  • Four years of experience with horizontal lathes, vertical mills, and surface grinders.  Over five years’ experience required for satisfactory job proficiency.
  • Must be able to think logically to analyze situations.
  • Must be able to work quickly and accurately to meet schedules. 
  • Must have an excellent working knowledge of machines, how to set-up and operate complex equipment, and an understanding of trigonometry, geometry, and general mathematics.
  • Must be able to read and work to machining and detail blueprints.
  • Must understand brazing and silver solder techniques for tool repair.
  • Ability to use advanced math and read and interpret extremely complex drawings and specifications.
