Automation and Process Control Analyst

Adex Personnel is looking for an Automation and Process Control Analyst on behalf of one of its partners, a recognized leader in technological transformation.
In this position, you will be working on a client project within the aluminum smelter sector over a period of approximately one (1) year, in the city of Deschambault.
Responsibilities :
During this contractual mandate, the Automation and Process Control Analyst will provide support to capitalizable projects by providing on-site technical support for all applications and hardware related to the customer's processes, as well as to the organization's Information Technology and Automation Solutions (ITAS) group. This includes all Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), process applications, instrumentation, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), as well as their associated software/components, such as frequency drives for example.
The holder of this mandate will also be involved in resolving breakdowns and problems affecting process automation and associated applications, in order to minimize downtime, resume production as quickly as possible, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our internal processes.
- Provide development and support services for the start-up of instrumentation and control equipment, as well as for the resolution of problems associated with this equipment.
- Deploy updates on process control computers.
- Participate in the development of solutions to improve operational efficiency aimed at increasing equipment availability and reliability using appropriate instrumentation and control strategies, while reducing associated costs.
- Establish and maintain a development environment to test modifications and obtain approval from area managers before any changes are put into production.
- Document and maintain design standards for all application codes.
- Meet the responsibilities defined in the ASAT (Alcoa Self Assessment Tool) protocol in order to minimize risk and improve system integrity on the hardware, software and code sides.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, both practical and related to occupational health and safety, as well as the various guides and operating procedures.
- Monitor and improve the various processes, procedures and equipment related to capitalizable projects in order to eliminate or minimize environmental impacts, with the aim of achieving zero incidents.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, automated production engineering and five (5) years' relevant experience OR combination of a DEC in a relevant field and several years' experience in equivalent functions.
- Fluency in French and functional English (written and spoken)
- Good knowledge of Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and GuardLogix PLCs
- Good knowledge of machine safety and associated standards
- Knowledge of automate
- GE type 90-70
- Emerson RX3i PLCs
- Knowledge of Ethernet/IP, Profinet and Modbus TCP communication protocols
- Significant experience with various PLCs, HMI, SCADA, instrumentation, PI software (historian), as well as with various network components and related interfaces
- Knowledge of production networking systems
- Knowledge of databases and SQL language
