Senior IT Technician

Adex Personnel is looking for a Senior IT Technician on behalf of one of its partners, a recognized leader in technological transformation. 

In this position, you will be working on a client project within the health sector,over a period of One (1) year with two (2) renewal possibilities, in the city of Terrebonne

Reporting to the line responsibility of the department manager to whom he reports, the incumbent of this position acts as a customer service resource of the DRI Service Centre. He will assume the tasks of categorization, prioritization and resolution of service requests and incidents according to the ITIL standards in place. He will have to respect the rules of communication and ethics required and in force at the DRI Service Center. He will be responsible for completing the various tasks within the established time and time. 

Responsibilities:

  • Inventory infrastructure and applications across institutions and update the CMDB.
  • Take charge of support calls, document them in the management tool and ensure follow-up (identification of problems, solutions, etc.) according to the standards established by the DRI Service Centre.
  • Respond to requests for services of varying complexity by performing procedures, investigating, diagnosing, and resolving common problems and providing advanced technical advice and temporary solutions.
  • Prioritize and escalate when solutions do not progress.
  • Monitor the progress of the resolution of requests, inform the persons concerned of the progress of their request by effectively communicating the diagnosis of problems and solutions in addition to updating information related to the interventions carried out.
  • Monitor and analyze service requests to detect common trends and issues, match unresolved incidents with existing issues, prioritize, and escalate when solutions are not progressing.
  • Recommend measures to improve the quality of services offered.
  • Respect the rules of communication and ethics required and in force at the Service Center.
  • Inventory the employer's sites.
  • Work with specialized technicians to provide support during server preparations and other activities.
  • Document infrastructure.
  • Participate in the development of data center consolidation activities.
  • Perform all other tasks requested by his/her immediate supervisor within the parameters provided.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Diploma of College Studies (DEC) with a specialization in computer science.
  • Excellent knowledge of the following systems:

-        Servers: Internal components of servers, Operating systems (Windows, Linux, AIX, Solaris)

-        SAN disk drive: SAN, NAS, Fiber Channel switch

-        Backup: Library, NetWorker Backup Software, TSM, DataProtector.

-        Hypervisor: VMware, Solaris, Linux, Windows

-        Monitoring: Zabbix

  • Demonstrate knowledge of how a server room works.
  • Owning a vehicle for travel
