Responsibilities: 

The process scientist/engineer monitors the processes under his/her responsibility and participates in technological development. In production, he will have to solve equipment problems, support batches, monitor, control and improve the performance of his processes. In technological development, he will participate in project teams and the development of new processes. He will have to collaborate with engineers, scientists, technical specialists in manufacturing, operations and technicians. 

Specifically, the scientist or process engineer is responsible for:

  • Ensure the follow-up of the equipment under his/her responsibility;
  • Support the processes under his/her responsibility by identifying and correcting problems;
  • Improve the processes under his/her responsibility taking into account the following aspects:
    • Health/Safety
    • Compliance with the Policy on Statistical Process Control (PSD)
    • Micro-contamination
    • Cost and productivity
    • Compliance with environmental standards
    • Equipment Availability
    • Survival rate 
  • Support critical manufacturing stages of production and development batches. 

Requirements: 

  •  A university-level degree (B.Eng, B.Sc., M.A.Sc., M.Sc. or Ph.D.):

In physical engineering, physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, materials engineering or any other relevant field.

  • Knowledge of microfabrication processes is an asset;
  • Knowledge of spoken and written English is required;
